Lydia Maele

Lydia joined ExxonMobil in 1997 and currently serves as Head of Talent for Low Carbon Solutions, a role she assumed in 2025. She is known for fostering strong, collaborative teams and promoting a team-oriented, open-door environment. A graduate of Brown University, Lydia’s career spans roles from HR Manager in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Executive Staffing & Development Manager in Fairfax, Virginia. Across these assignments, she has worked to thoughtfully challenge the status quo in support of business goals, while maintaining a positive and engaging workplace culture.

Outside of work, Lydia is passionate about advancing education for girls and women worldwide and serves on the Leadership Council for the Posse Foundation in Houston, Texas. A self-proclaimed foodie, she is known for her curated recommendations on Houston’s dining scene and for introducing friends to South African wines. Whether cheering on her beloved Springboks rugby team, enjoying tennis or exploring new culinary experiences, Lydia brings energy and enthusiasm to everything she does.
